Information you can trust

Government & research sources

Crop calendar and crop protection information is based on publications from the Nepal Agricultural Research Council (NARC) and the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development (MoALD). Market prices come from the Kalimati Fruits and Vegetables Market and others.

Safety first

When suggesting pesticides, the app always shows a PHI (pre-harvest interval — days to wait before harvesting) warning, and recommends prevention and home remedies before chemical treatment.

Your decision, in your hands

The app provides information and suggestions; the final decision always rests with the farmer. If anything looks wrong, you can tell us directly.

Why Krishi Patro?

We're also a small team of engineers who grew up in villages across Nepal.

We watched our own parents, grandparents, and fellow villagers in our home villages struggle with the same problems for years.

Will it rain today or not?

When is the right time to plant this crop?

What's today's vegetable price at Kalimati?

How much pesticide to apply? When to fertilize?

To find any of this out, farmers have had to depend on others. Sometimes the advice is wrong, sometimes the information arrives far too late. Sometimes a single wrong decision puts months of hard work and income at risk.

We also noticed another problem. Most apps built for farmers are in English, targeted at large commercial farms, or start charging money after a few days of use. But real farming in Nepal happens on small plots of land. Weather varies from district to district. And for hundreds of thousands of farmers, Nepali isn't even their first language — they're most comfortable in their own mother tongue, including Maithili, Bhojpuri, Tharu, and Tamang.

So we built Krishi Patro.

Weather for all 77 districts, daily Kalimati market prices, NARC-based crop information, the right time to plant and harvest, and everything else farming needs — in your own language, for your own district, always free.

We believe getting the right information at the right time is a farmer's right, not a privilege.

Krishi Patro isn't just an app. It's our small tribute to the time, hard work, and sweat of Nepali farmers.
